Cover Beaumarchais

With contributions by international scholars of different disciplines and some renowned theatre practitioners, this book traces the “Myth of Figaro” and the musical adaptations of the trilogy from the 18th century until today, documents their remarkable scope, and reflects the transfer from Beaumarchais´ theatre texts to the various libretto adaptions. It sheds light on barely known and rarely performed works and challenges what is known today based on recent scientific accomplishments.
